In March 2011, the library became a department of the City. At that time, the Library Advisory Board was created to serve in advising the City concerning the operations of the City's public library.The Board acts as advisor to the Library Director, the City Manager, and the City Council on matters associated with the library. In cooperation with the Library Director, the Board compiles and edits comments, complaints, suggestions, and other information from the users of the library, as concerns the operation, management, and use of the library facility; with that information to be edited and forwarded to the City Manager for consideration.
