Arkansas River Power Authority and the City of Trinidad College Scholarship

In 2000 the Arkansas River Power Authority Board of Directors established a College Scholarship Program. The Program is administered through our member municipalities and $700 is awarded to one high school senior in each member municipality. The City offers a matching $700 contribution, bringing the total award for the ARPA/Trinidad Scholarship to $1,400 for one qualified senior.

To be eligible, a student must be a spring 2023 High School graduate who resides with a family that receives electric service from the City of Trinidad. Applications must be submitted to the Trinidad Human Resources office by the close of business on April 14, 2023. A local selection committee will name the winner of the scholarship during the first week of May.

Application forms, scholarship requirements and eligibility criteria are available from school counseling offices.

ARPA is an intergovernmental power authority created in 1979 by the municipalities of Holly, La Junta, Lamar, Las Animas, Springfield, and Trinidad, Colorado. ARPA furnishes the wholesale electric power needs of its member municipalities.
