Park Use & Special Event Permits

We encourage you to hold your picnic, birthday party, family reunion, or other event in one of our Parks. The parks are open to the public daily from 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

A permit is required for all events in City Parks to mitigate conflicts and to allow Park staff time to make any necessary preparations.

There are two types of permits available.

If any of the following apply to your event, please request a SPECIAL EVENT PERMIT APPLICATION from park.rec@trinidad.co.gov

  • The primary purpose of the event is entertainment (i.e. a music concert)
  • The public or a substantial portion of the public is invited to the event either by express invitation or by implication
  • The event is expected to have a visual, sound or environmental impact
  • The event is expected to cause disruption of the normal routine of the community, park or affected neighborhood
  • The event involves filming
  • The event requires closure of any City street
  • Alcohol will be sold at the event.
  • Inflatables (i.e. bounce houses) will be used at the event

If none of the above listed statements apply to your event, please contact Marty Hackett at 719-846-9512

Please note that obtaining a permit does not reserve the park for your event. The park will remain open to the public during your event.
